What to Expect During Your Exam
During the procedure, you will lie comfortably on an exam table while a technologist applies a warm gel and moves a transducer across the area being examined. Some exams use specialized probes, such as endovaginal ultrasound for detailed pelvic imaging. Ultrasound exams are typically painless and take 20–45 minutes depending on the area being evaluated.
After Your Ultrasound
Following the exam, you may resume normal activities immediately. One of our radiologists will interpret your ultrasound images and send a detailed report to your referring physician, who will discuss the results with you. No recovery time is needed.
